Cara Eastwood, former press secretary to Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal, this week joined the staff of Linden, a full-service marketing, branding and graphic design agency in Fort Collins.
Linden is one of the largest full-service marketing firms in Northern Colorado, with clients in health care, education, and many other professional, consumer and service-based industries.
Eastwood brings extensive knowledge of Western issues and Wyoming state government, and experience on both sides of the media, said Linden owner Susie Cannon.
Most of the companies I meet with already know that an effective marketing strategy is key to reaching their revenue goals. Either they are brand-new to the industry, they have "hit the wall" (the way they used to get new business isn't working anymore), or they recognize the opportunity to slingshot their business forward by proactively marketing in a down economy.
DENVER - Two Northern Colorado companies made the 2009 list of Best Companies to Work for in Colorado by Colorado Biz magazine.
Odell Brewing Co. of Fort Collins ranked ninth and SAFEBuilt of Loveland came in at 14th among small companies with 25 to 99 employees in the magazine's August issue. Both companies were new to the annual list.
Among the things that make Odell a special workplace, according to the magazine, are classes conducted for co-workers at "Odell U;" a weekly beer allotment; and a five-part class for all new employees conducted by Founder and CEO Wynne Odel.
Certainly the process of road construction can cause inconvenience and a test of patience — especially when it happens in your own front yard. Earlier this year, construction began to convert Howes Street from a one-way road to a two-way road. This was the early stage of the Mason Street Corridor project.
Certainly the process was an inconvenience and it was taking a long time due to a wet spring. But the creative team at Linden decided that instead of swearing at the workers, why not thank them for making Fort Collins a better place? Why not invite them on the porch for a real coffee break? Why not treat them with the same respect we ourselves would demand?
Linden recently received 3 awards from the Service Industry Advertising Awards (SIAA), including a Gold Award for “There is Only One Spartan” video production for Spartan School of Aeronautics in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Linden also received a bronze award for Poudre Valley Health System’s Twenty Three Trees Medical Spa logo and a merit award for the Westwood College viewbook.
SIAA is the only advertising awards to specifically recognize the creativity and communication achievements of the service industry.
