Linden, a marketing company in Old Town Fort Collins, recently completed the logo design for Union Place, a sustainable mixed-use development that is among the first new projects planned for the North College urban renewal area.

As part of their commitment to conservation, Union Place’s logo features Ecofont, a typeface with holes designed to reduce ink consumption by 20%.

Union Place, a completely geothermal neighborhood by Merten Inc. of Boulder, will include more than 80 residential units and 19,000 square feet of commercial space. The development is striving for LEED for Neighborhood Development certification, and will offer both affordable housing and sustainable building techniques including pervious concrete, rain gardens, bioswales, energy-saving “dark sky” streetlights and native, drought-tolerant landscaping. Groundbreaking has been set for October 21 at 3 p.m. at the development site on west Willox. Union Place will be represented at this weekend’s Sustainable Living Fair.
